The intention was to make the cheapest individual bespoke guitar possible and still make a pound or two, just to see if it was viable.
The design was intentionally basic and was intended to look old and a bit used and battered, have a bit of character and 'Mojo' Every one unique.
Set up for slide with the bottom half of the board just low enough for a bit of Seasick Steve style fret and slide. Worked well for me.
I put this one on ebay just to see if anyone would "Get It"
I had six watchers immediately and thought that l might have a potential customer or two.
Sold last week, posted immediately and got a fairly curt message telling me just how badly finished and set up the guitar was and wanted a refund. Not a problem but l did feel a bit miffed as it was intended to be exactly as it is! Point is , the guy just did not get it.I will be very careful in future with any relic style projects , especially on my descriptive part of the advert, l do worry that this chap is just going to tell everyone what a terrible luthier l am!
This follows through to clearing some of my less perfect creations. I have sold them off cheap in the past (Really cheap!) without a second thought to what potential customers might think if taken out of context!
Looks like in future, l will have to just store them in the loft and pretend they dont exist.
Thankfully, there aint too many these days but we all make the occasional mistake, anyone who says they dont is a big fibber in my opinion.
